# Aurora HDR alternatives

Aurora HDR was Skylum's dedicated HDR app. Skylum now says it is "an older product now replaced by Luminar" that "no longer receives updates or upgrades", though it can still be downloaded. Real estate photographers who relied on it need a maintained way to merge brackets and finish sets. The direct successor is Luminar Neo's HDR Merge, and Photomatix Pro and Lightroom Classic are other maintained options. NovaHDR does not merge brackets; it finishes the exposure and color of the images you export.

_We make NovaHDR, one of the alternatives below. We compared Aurora HDR and each alternative on what you get, what you send and price, using each vendor's public pages, checked October 12, 2026._
