# Can NovaHDR work with single exposures?

Yes. NovaHDR works from single exposures as well as from merged bracket exports: send the best available image for each view and it finishes the set. A single frame has its limits.

A single image cannot hold every exposure a bracketed shoot might capture, and editing cannot recover detail that is absent from the file. A source with usable highlight and shadow detail gives the edit more to work with.
