# Interior photo editing that holds the window, the room and the color together

Interior photo editing is the work of making rooms look the way they felt to stand in: windows that do not swallow the frame, shadows that still show the furniture, and walls that keep their real color under a mix of daylight and lamps. For property interiors, NovaHDR takes on that exposure and color pass for the whole home. Upload up to 50 interior and exterior photos as one property, send it for editing, and get a finished set with balanced light and consistent color in 24 to 72 hours after you send it.

Light that feels balanced. Rooms that still feel real.

## What interior photo editing involves

Interior photo editing is post-capture work on photographs of rooms. Because interiors combine bright openings with darker depths, the core of it is tonal: holding the window and the far corner in the same picture, correcting the color that lamps and daylight leave on surfaces, and keeping a whole sequence of rooms in step. Commercial interiors and design portfolios add layers of their own, but for property listings the tonal core is most of the job.

_Editing an interior photo is not redecorating it. NovaHDR does not move, remove or add furniture, stage empty rooms or change finishes. For editorial architecture work with strict geometry, see architectural photo editing._

## What makes interiors hard to finish

An interior is a high-contrast scene pretending to be a calm one. The camera sees a bright rectangle of daylight, a ceiling lit by warm downlights, a hallway lit by nothing at all, and a wall painted a color that bounces onto everything near it. The eye adapts to all of that in a second; the photograph does not.

Photographers solve the capture side with brackets, flash or careful single exposures, and each approach leaves its own finishing work. Merged brackets can look flat or grey, flash frames can leave a cold cast near windows, and single exposures need careful lifting so the shadows do not turn muddy. All of them still need the rooms to agree with each other at the end.

Kitchens and bathrooms concentrate the problem. Glossy cabinets reflect window light, white tile shows every shift in color, and the under-cabinet strip adds a third color temperature. These rooms sell listings, so they are also where an agent is quickest to notice that something looks off.

Then there is volume. A typical home produces dozens of interior frames, and each one needs the same careful attention to window, shadow and color. Doing it well once is a craft; doing it well forty times before the next morning's shoot is where most photographers lose their evenings.

## How to have a property's interiors edited by NovaHDR

1. **Export from your usual capture workflow** Merged brackets, flash blends you have already made, or single exposures: export them as JPEG, PNG or WebP.
2. **Upload the rooms as one property** Up to 50 photos, 50 MiB each and 2 GiB in total, so every room is finished in the same pass.
3. **Pay once or use a credit** Choose One Property or spend a credit from a monthly plan.
4. **Send the property** The job starts when you send it, not when the upload finishes, so you can add a late frame first.
5. **Check the rooms side by side** Finished photos arrive in 24 to 72 hours after you send the property; review them before delivery.

## What NovaHDR does for interiors

- **Windows and rooms in balance**: Exposure is balanced across each photo, within the detail your capture holds.
- **Rooms that read as one home**: Color stays coherent from the kitchen to the bedroom because the set is finished as a whole.
- **Natural, not glossy**: Bright enough to understand the space, restrained enough to preserve its character.
- **Starts from your export**: Single exposures and merged bracket exports both work as inputs.
- **The furniture stays put**: No rooms, objects or window detail are added.

## Limits for interior work

- **Blown windows stay blown**: If the window is pure white in every source, no editing can put the view back. Capture it if the view matters.
- **No staging or decluttering**: Empty rooms are not furnished, and personal items are not removed.
- **No perspective correction promised**: Leaning verticals are not part of the work; correct them in your own editor if needed.
- **Finished files only**: RAW, TIFF and unmerged bracket sets are not accepted.

## Room by room: what usually needs attention

| Room | Typical problem | What helps the finished set |
|---|---|---|
| Kitchen | Window glare on cabinets, mixed strip lighting | Send every kitchen angle so they match each other |
| Bathroom | White tile shifting color, small window blowing out | A clean exposure of the window side |
| Living room | Large windows against a darker interior | Your best balance of window and room at capture |
| Bedroom | Low light and warm lamps | A frame with enough light in the shadows |
| Hallway and stairs | Little light, mixed color from adjoining rooms | Include them in the same property as the rooms they join |

## What each capture method leaves for the interior edit

| Capture method | What it does well | What still needs finishing |
|---|---|---|
| Bracketed exposures, merged | Holds windows and shadows in one file | Flat or grey midtones, halos at window edges, color drift between rooms |
| Flash and ambient blend | Clean color near the flash, crisp detail | Cold cast near windows, mismatch between flashed and ambient areas |
| Single exposure | Fast on site, natural light | Shadows to lift carefully, bright windows to hold back |
| Mixed methods in one home | Speed where it matters, quality where it counts | Making every room look like the same property |

## Questions about interior photo editing

### Can NovaHDR edit interior photos that are not for a listing?

NovaHDR is built for property photo sets for real estate photographers. The work is exposure and color finishing of a property, up to 50 photos at a time.

### Do I need to shoot brackets for interiors?

No. NovaHDR works from single exposures as well as from merged bracket exports. It does not merge brackets itself, so export the merge first if you shoot them.

### Will my interior photos look over-processed?

It should not. Rooms keep their real depth and shadow, with light that feels balanced rather than flattened.

### Can I include exterior photos in the same property?

Yes. Upload the frames you plan to deliver for the property together, up to 50, so the whole set is finished as one.

### How do I keep a kitchen consistent across several angles?

Upload every kitchen angle in the same property as the rest of the home. The set is finished as a whole, so cabinets, counters and tile keep one color across the wide shot, the island detail and the view into the dining area.

### What file types can I upload?

JPEG, PNG and WebP, up to 50 MiB per photo and 2 GiB per property.

### How much does interior photo editing cost?

One Property is $29 one-time for one property and covers up to 50 photos. Monthly plans include property credits for regular shooters.

### When do the edited interiors come back?

Expect the finished interiors 24 to 72 hours after you send the property, which suits a shoot in the morning and a delivery later in the week.

### Do flash and ambient blends work as inputs?

If you blend flash and ambient frames yourself, export the blended result and upload it. NovaHDR starts from finished JPEG, PNG or WebP images and does not combine separate frames.
