FREELANCER OR SERVICE

Hiring a real estate photo editor, or sending the property to a service

If you are looking for a real estate photo editor for hire, decide first which job you are hiring for. If it is the exposure and color pass you repeat on every property, you may not need to hire anyone: NovaHDR finishes that pass for the whole set and returns it 24 to 72 hours after you send the property, priced per property. If you need someone who also stages rooms, cleans up clutter or blends your brackets to your exact taste, a freelancer you brief and manage is the better fit.

Hire for judgement. Send the repetition.

What hiring a real estate photo editor involves

A real estate photo editor for hire is usually a freelancer, found through a marketplace or a referral, who edits your property photos to your instructions and is paid per image, per property or per hour. The arrangement works when you have time to find the right person, teach them your look, give feedback and cover for their availability. It is a working relationship, with the upside and the overhead that come with one.

It is not the same as outsourcing to a service with a fixed scope, covered in outsource real estate photo editing, or choosing an agency, covered in real estate photo editing company.

When hiring a person is still the right call

Hire when the job needs decisions only a briefed person can make: which clutter to take out, how a twilight should feel, how to blend a particular set of brackets for a high end listing. Those are alterations and craft calls, and NovaHDR does not do them.

Hire when you want one person to own everything after capture, including delivery and client communication, and you are ready to manage that relationship.

Send the property to NovaHDR when the job is the same on every shoot: bring exposure into balance, make color coherent from room to room, keep the property looking like itself. That is repetition, and repetition is what you should not be paying for in your own time or in someone's hourly rate.

There is also the cost nobody invoices: the hours spent posting the job, reviewing test edits, writing the style notes, chasing a late delivery and finding a replacement when your editor gets busier clients. A per property service has none of that overhead, which matters most in the weeks when you have the least time to manage anyone.

Try the service route on one listing

  1. 01

    Export a normal shoot

Export the frames you would hand an editor. Blend brackets yourself first.

  2. 02

    Upload and send

Name the property, add up to 50 photos, buy One Property or use a plan credit, and send it.

  3. 03

    Compare honestly

When the set arrives, compare it with what a freelancer returned on a similar property, side by side, room by room.

  4. 04

Decide what to keep hiring for

Many photographers end up keeping a person for alterations and sending the routine finishing pass to a service.

What NovaHDR replaces in a hire

The repetitive correction pass

Hand off the last exposure and color pass instead of making every correction yourself or paying someone to.

Training for consistency

The set is finished as a whole, so you do not have to teach anyone to match rooms.

A natural standard

Bright enough to understand the space, restrained enough to preserve its character.

Scheduling around someone else

Finished photos arrive 24 to 72 hours after you send the property.

What a hire can do that NovaHDR does not

Alterations

Staging, decluttering, dusk conversions and view swaps are not part of NovaHDR.

Bracket blending to taste

NovaHDR does not blend brackets or accept bracket sets.

Conversation about a single image

There is no per image instruction thread; the property is finished as one set and you review it.

Rescuing missing detail

Nobody can recover detail that was never captured, but a person may composite from other frames. NovaHDR works with the source image you send.

Questions about hiring a real estate photo editor

How much does NovaHDR cost compared with a freelancer?

NovaHDR is priced per property, not per image: One Property is $29 one-time for one property and covers up to 50 photos. Freelancer rates vary by person and by task, so compare on a full property.

Do I have to manage NovaHDR like an employee?

No. There is no briefing, scheduling or training. You upload the property, send it and review the finished set.

Is a freelancer cheaper than a per property service?

Sometimes on paper, rarely in practice once you count your own time. Price a full listing both ways, then add the hours you spend finding, briefing and checking a person. NovaHDR has none of that overhead: upload, send, review.

What if my freelancer is unavailable during a busy week?

That is the moment a fixed window helps most. Each property you send to NovaHDR comes back 24 to 72 hours after you send it, whatever else is going on in your week.

Can I use a freelancer and NovaHDR together?

Yes. NovaHDR does not replace your capture, blending or publishing tools, so a person can still handle alterations around the finished set.

Who reviews the photos before the agent sees them?

You do. The photographer keeps the final review before client delivery.

Is there a minimum commitment?

No subscription is required. You can buy a single property, and it does not expire.

Can I cancel a monthly plan later?

Subscriptions bill monthly and renew until canceled; canceling stops future renewals, and support@novahdr.com can help.

What should a freelancer test edit include?

A full property with mixed light and bright windows, not a single hero image. Judge it the way you would judge any finished set: do the rooms match and does the house still look like itself.

Which photos should I keep for a freelancer?

Frames that need something added, taken out or rebuilt from several exposures. Frames that need balance and consistent color can go to NovaHDR as part of the property.
