APARTMENT PHOTOS
Apartment photos that make a compact unit easy to read
Most apartments get their daylight from one side. The living room and bedroom face the windows, while the kitchen, hall and bath sit deeper in the unit with only ceiling lights, so the same apartment can range from bright to dim in a few steps. Small rooms also force wide lenses close to walls, which makes color casts from the floor and window more obvious. NovaHDR finishes the apartment as a set with balanced exposure and consistent color, so the interior rooms match the window side and the unit reads as one home.
The unit is shown as it is: the view, the finishes and the size of each room are not changed.
One property covers up to 50 photos.

How to send an apartment for finishing
- 01
Export each view of the unit
Choose the living area, kitchen, each bedroom, the bath, storage, the balcony and the view. Export one JPEG, PNG or WebP each; blend bracketed frames in your own software first.
- 02
Upload the unit as one property
Name the property after the building and unit number and upload up to 50 photos, adding the shared amenities if they belong in this listing.
- 03
Send, then review
Buy One Property or use a credit from your plan, then send the unit for editing. Photos are back 24 to 72 hours after you send the property for your review before they go to the agent or leasing office.
Capture notes for apartments
Apartments are small and one sided, so lens position and light choices count. These habits help the finished set.
Shoot from the doorway or a corner
Corners give the most depth in a small room. Keep the camera level at about chest height so walls stay upright in the source.
Turn on the inner rooms
The kitchen, hall and bath depend on ceiling lights. Switch them all on so the inner rooms are not left dark next to the bright living room.
Keep the view if it sells the unit
City and park views are a big part of an apartment's value. Expose so the view keeps detail; a pure white window stays white.
Show the balcony from inside
A frame looking out through the door shows how the balcony connects to the living space.
Include the amenities
Gym, lobby, roof deck and laundry room are often part of the listing. Send them with the unit so they are finished together.
Avoid very wide distortion
Ultra wide lenses make small rooms look stretched. Choose a focal length that keeps furniture in proportion.
What makes apartment photos hard to finish
Light from one side
Many apartments have windows on only one wall, so inner rooms rely on ceiling fixtures.
Bright views
Upper floor units often face open sky or cityscapes much brighter than the room.
Compact rooms
Close walls and wide lenses make color bounce from floors and painted walls stronger.
Building fixtures
Kitchens and baths often use standard building fixtures that may not match the tenant's lamps.
Finished as a set
NovaHDR finishes the property as a set with balanced exposure and consistent color, so the dark inner rooms match the window side.
Natural, not stretched
The look is natural, bright enough to understand the space, and nothing about the rooms is changed.
Apartment areas, common problems and what to send
| Area | Common exposure or color problem | What to send or check |
|---|---|---|
| Living room by the windows | Bright view against the room | A frame where the view holds detail |
| Galley kitchen | Dim, ceiling lit only | Kitchen views with every light on |
| Bedroom | Small, close walls tint the light | All bedrooms in the same upload |
| Bathroom | No window, warm or green vanity light | A source where tile color reads |
| Balcony | Hard light outside, dark inside | A view out from the living room |
| Building amenities | Different lighting from the unit | Amenities sent in the same property |
What does finishing apartment photos mean?
Finishing apartment photos is the exposure and color pass on a single unit: lifting the inner rooms that only have ceiling lights, holding detail in the bright view and making a compact home read as one consistent space. NovaHDR does that pass on the whole property and returns it for your final review.
It is not a renovation preview. Rooms, finishes, views and furniture are not added or changed.
Apartment photo questions
Will a small apartment look bigger after finishing?
No. Size comes from your framing and lens choice. Finishing makes the rooms easier to read, with balanced exposure and color.
Will the city view be restored if the window blew out?
No. Detail not in the source cannot be recovered, and no view is pasted in. Expose for the window on site.
Can I include the building gym and roof deck?
Yes, upload them with the unit so they are finished as part of the same set.
Do the inner rooms get brighter?
Exposure is balanced across the set, so a dim kitchen or hall is brought closer to the rest of the unit.
Are phone photos of an apartment fine?
Yes, as long as each view is a JPEG, PNG or WebP. NovaHDR works from single exposures.
What does an apartment cost to finish?
One unit is one property: $29 one-time for one property, or one plan credit.
