BEDROOM PHOTOS

Bedroom real estate photos with soft light and clean bedding

Bedrooms look simple but expose problems quickly. Light usually enters from one side, so the wall by the window is bright and the far side of the bed falls into shadow, and white or pale bedding shows any warm tint from bedside lamps. A house can also have four or five bedrooms painted in similar colors, and small differences between them become obvious in a gallery. NovaHDR finishes every bedroom in the same set, so the beds look crisp, the light feels even and the rooms read as one home.

Bedding, furniture and decor stay exactly as they were on the day of the shoot.

One property covers up to 50 photos.

How to prepare bedroom photos for finishing

  1. 01

Pick the corner shot for each bedroom

The standard bedroom frame is from a corner, showing the bed at an angle with the window in view. Choose one or two per room, then export them as JPEG, PNG or WebP files, with any brackets already merged in your software.

  2. 02

Upload all bedrooms in one property

Name the property and upload the primary suite, the secondary bedrooms and any ensuites together, up to 50 photos. Bedrooms finished in one set are much easier to keep consistent than bedrooms edited one at a time.

  3. 03

Send it when the house is in

Use One Property or a credit from your plan and send the property. Finished photos are ready 24 to 72 hours after you send the property, and you review them before your client does.

Bedroom capture notes

A tidy bed and a consistent lighting choice do most of the work in bedroom photos. A few more habits help.

Make the bed flat and tight

Wrinkles in a white duvet catch shadow and read as grey. Pull the cover tight and plump the pillows before you shoot.

Bedside lamps as a pair

If you turn one bedside lamp on, turn on the other. A single lamp makes the bed look lopsided and adds warm color to only one side.

Open the blinds evenly

Half closed slats throw stripes across the bed and wall. Open them fully or close them fully.

Shoot from the doorway corner

The corner nearest the door usually shows the bed, the window and the closet, which is what buyers want to understand.

Clear the nightstands

Phone chargers, glasses and medicine bottles stay in the finished photo. Clear the surfaces on site.

Keep children's rooms in the set

Smaller bedrooms often get skipped or rushed. Shoot them with the same care so the set stays even.

Why bedroom photos need care

One sided window light

Most bedrooms have windows on one wall, so the room falls off from bright to dim across the frame.

Pale bedding shows any tint

White and cream duvets turn yellow under warm lamps and blue in shade, and buyers notice because they expect clean white linen.

Similar rooms side by side

Secondary bedrooms often share paint and carpet, so a color difference between two of them stands out in the gallery.

Dark headboards and furniture

Upholstered headboards and dark wood dressers can lose their shape if the far side of the room is underexposed.

Bedrooms finished as one set

NovaHDR finishes the property as a whole, so every bedroom shares the same color balance.

Natural and calm

The look stays natural: bright enough to show the room, restrained enough to keep it feeling like a real bedroom.

What does finishing bedroom photos mean?

Finishing bedroom photos is the exposure and color pass that evens out light from a single window, keeps white bedding looking white and makes every bedroom in the house agree with the others. With NovaHDR this is done for the whole property in one pass, then returned for your final review.

It is not virtual staging: no beds, linens or decor are added to empty bedrooms, and nothing in the room is replaced.

Bedroom photo questions

Why does white bedding look yellow in my bedroom photos?

Warm bedside lamps and ceiling bulbs tint pale fabric. Finishing balances the color across the set, and keeping lamps on or off consistently in every bedroom helps most.

Can an empty bedroom be staged with furniture?

No. NovaHDR does exposure and color work, not virtual staging. An empty bedroom is finished as an empty bedroom.

Will all the bedrooms match each other?

That is the point of sending them in one property: the bedrooms are finished as part of the same set, so paint and carpet colors agree from room to room.

Can the far side of a dark bedroom be brightened?

Yes, as long as the detail is in the source. Shadows that are completely black in the photograph cannot be recovered.

How many bedroom photos can one property hold?

A property holds up to 50 photos in total across every room, so a five bedroom house with two views each uses ten of them.

What does it cost to finish a four bedroom house?

On the Pro plan, $199 per month, 15 property credits, each property of up to 50 photos uses one credit regardless of the number of bedrooms.
