NURSERY PHOTOS

Nursery and kids room photos with true colors and even light

Nurseries and children's rooms are often the most colorful rooms in a house. A saturated accent wall or mural bounces its color onto the ceiling and the white furniture, blackout blinds or curtains keep the room dark, and night lights and small lamps add warm pools of light. Toys, books and decals fill the frame. NovaHDR finishes these rooms with the rest of the property, so the wall colors stay true, the white cot and dresser look clean and the room sits comfortably beside the other bedrooms in the set.

Wall colors, murals and furniture stay as photographed: the finish is exposure and color, not repainting.

One property covers up to 50 photos.

How to send nursery and kids room photos

  1. 01

Export one or two views per room

A corner view showing the cot or bed and the window usually covers it, with a second frame for a play corner or built in storage. Export as JPEG, PNG or WebP, merging any brackets in your own software first.

  2. 02

Upload them with the other bedrooms

Name the property and upload the nursery and kids rooms with the primary suite and guest rooms, up to 50 photos. Finished in one set, the trim, doors and carpet match from room to room.

  3. 03

    Send it and review

Pick One Property or a plan credit and send. Finished photos arrive 24 to 72 hours after you send the property, for your review before the client sees them.

Nursery and kids room capture notes

Children's rooms are lived in. A few minutes of preparation make a big difference.

Open the blackout blinds fully

Blackout blinds are common in nurseries. Open them all the way so daylight reaches the room evenly.

Turn off night lights

Colored night lights and projector lamps add spots of blue or orange. Switch them off for the photo.

Contain the toys

Put toys in bins and books on shelves. Toys on the floor remain in the finished photo.

Respect privacy

Remove or turn away name signs, photos of the children and anything that identifies them. Many agents ask for this.

Let the bold wall be bold

A bright accent wall is part of the room. Expose for it so the color stays rich rather than washed out.

Make the bed or cot neat

Smooth bedding and a tidy cot read as calm and clean.

What makes nurseries and kids rooms tricky

Saturated paint bounces color

A bright accent wall or mural reflects its color onto the ceiling, floor and white furniture.

Blackout blinds

Nurseries often have blackout blinds or curtains, which leave the room darker than the other bedrooms if not fully opened.

Small warm light sources

Night lights, lamps and projector lights add pools of warm or colored light.

Busy frames

Toys, books, decals and artwork make the frame busy and hide the room itself.

Matched to the other bedrooms

NovaHDR finishes the property as a set, so the trim and carpet in the nursery agree with the other bedrooms.

Colors kept true

The look is natural: the room's colors stay as they are, with balanced exposure.

What does finishing a nursery photo mean?

Finishing a nursery or kids room photo means keeping a bold wall color true while stopping it from tinting everything else, evening out the light from a window that is often behind blackout blinds and matching the room to the other bedrooms. NovaHDR does this for the whole property at once, for your final review.

It is not repainting or decluttering: walls keep their color, and toys, decals and furniture are not removed.

Nursery and kids room photo questions

Will finishing tone down a bright pink or blue nursery wall?

No. The wall keeps its real color. Exposure and color are balanced so the room reads naturally, without repainting it.

Can toys on the floor be removed from the photo?

No. Anything in the frame stays in the frame, so tidy toys into bins before you shoot.

Can a child's name on the wall be hidden?

Not after the shoot. Take down or turn away name signs and photos on site.

Will the nursery match the other bedrooms?

Yes, when all bedrooms are in the same property. The set is finished together so trim, doors and carpet agree.

What happens to the colored light from a night light?

It stays part of the source, so switch night lights off before shooting for the most natural result.

What does a family home cost to finish?

One property of up to 50 photos is $29 one-time for one property, however many bedrooms it has.
