How we compared

An HDR photo editing service takes a set of exposures for each view, blends them into one balanced image and returns the finished photo. The ranking looks only at services that say on their own pages that they blend brackets, and compares how much of the bracket workflow they take off your hands: how many exposures they accept, which file types, what a blended photo costs, and what delivery they list.

NovaHDR wrote this page. Because NovaHDR does not blend brackets, it is not ranked; it is described under considered, not ranked, for photographers who merge themselves. Every competitor statement comes from that vendor's pages read on October 12, 2026. We placed no test orders, and vendor claims such as speed are labeled as claims.

Flambient, the blend of a flash frame and an ambient frame, is a close cousin of HDR and several services price it separately. Where a service lists it, the entry says so.

The ranking

1.

PhotoUp

Best overall HDR service

PhotoUp prices HDR openly: an HDR photo costs 1.25 credits, against 1.00 for a single shot and 1.50 for flambient, and a credit is $1.50 on demand or less in packs of 100 to 1,000. Monthly plans start at $39 for 50 credits. The pricing page lists 24-hour standard delivery and unlimited revisions. What it does not list is accepted file formats, so ask whether your RAW files are fine before the first order. For a photographer who brackets most interiors and flashes the odd difficult room, having both styles priced in one account is the main advantage.

What it offers
  • HDR at 1.25 credits a photo
  • Flambient at 1.50 credits
  • Credit packs down to $1.10 a credit at 1,000
  • Unlimited revisions and 24-hour standard delivery, as listed
Limits
  • File formats not listed on the pages read
  • Bracket count per view not stated
  • Plan currency code not stated

Price: 1.25 credits per HDR photo; $1.50 a credit on demand (checked 2026-10-12)

2.

BoxBrownie

Best for RAW brackets plus extras

BoxBrownie accepts RAW as well as JPG, PNG, GIF and PDF, and says bracketed exposures are blended by its editors as part of Image Enhancement at $2.00 an image. The 17 steps it lists go beyond the blend to white balance, straightening, lens correction, sky replacement and lawn enhancement. Standard edits are listed at 24 hours. Because dusk, staging, item removal and floor plans live in the same account, it is the HDR service that best suits photographers who sell agents a full marketing package.

What it offers
  • RAW and bracketed uploads
  • Blend plus sky, lawn and lens fixes in one price
  • Dusk, staging and floor plans in the same account
  • No-cost correction of standard edits, as listed
Limits
  • Bracket count per view not stated
  • Removing items is excluded from Image Enhancement
  • Per-image pricing on every frame

Price: $2.00 per image, Image Enhancement (USD) (checked 2026-10-12)

3.

Phixer

Best price per blended photo

Phixer is the cheapest way on this list to get brackets blended: its AI HDR tier starts at $0.35 a photo, and its Standard tier at $2 adds flash blending, with Advanced at $3. Raw uploads go through a web dashboard, standard turnaround is listed under 24 hours with paid rush at 18, 12 or 8 hours, and revisions are listed as unlimited. Phixer says its non-AI tiers come from in-house editors. The trade-off is choosing the right tier for each listing.

What it offers
  • AI HDR from $0.35 a photo
  • Flash blending from $2 a photo
  • Rush options at 18, 12 or 8 hours
  • Unlimited revisions, as listed
Limits
  • Tier choice affects the result
  • Bracket counts not stated
  • Rush costs extra

Price: From $0.35 (AI HDR); $2 Standard with flash blending; $3 Advanced (checked 2026-10-12)

4.

Fotober

Best for HDR with video editing

Fotober lists HDR blending, merging multiple exposures to light the interior, and flambient blending of flash and ambient frames. It says it accepts all standard real estate file formats and lists a guaranteed 12 to 24 hour turnaround, which is the fastest written commitment among the agencies here. It describes a hybrid process, with AI on repetitive tasks and human retouchers on fine tuning. It publishes no per-image prices, so it ranks below the services that do.

What it offers
  • HDR and flambient blending
  • 12 to 24 hour turnaround, as listed
  • Video editing from the same company
  • Trial order
Limits
  • No published per-image prices
  • Bracket counts not stated
  • Revision policy not stated on the pages read

5.

Autoenhance.ai

Best for big bracket counts uploaded at once

Autoenhance.ai is software you upload to rather than an agency, but for HDR it does the same job: drop in the whole shoot and it groups and merges up to 9 brackets per image, with single images mixed into the same upload. It accepts JPEG, WEBP, AVIF, HEIC, TIFF, RAW and DNG, and its help center says JPG and RAW brackets give similar results. You pay one credit per downloaded image however many brackets went in. It claims 5 to 10 minutes for a full shoot. Prices did not render on its pricing page on the check date.

What it offers
  • Up to 9 brackets per image
  • Brackets and singles in one upload
  • Wide format support
  • One credit per downloaded image
Limits
  • Prices did not render when checked
  • Compressed RAW is not supported
  • Credits expire two months after issue

FixThePhoto

Best for blends ordered by the property

FixThePhoto blends several exposures into one photo as part of its real estate line, at $1.50 a photo for Standard edits with a 10-photo minimum, or in per-property packages at $39, $99 and $299. It accepts TIFF and most RAW formats except CR3 for Standard edits, and its order flow includes a revision step. It is a general retoucher, so real estate HDR is one product among many.

What it offers
  • Exposure blending
  • Per-photo or per-property packages
  • TIFF and most RAW accepted
Limits
  • CR3 excluded for Standard edits
  • Trial terms not stated
  • General retouching business, not real estate specialist

Bella Virtual asks for 3 to 5 brackets per shot as RAW or high-resolution JPEG, says single frames can also work, and describes its HDR blending as manual. HDR minor edits are $7 and major edits $14 a photo on its product page, though its landing page says from $5. It lists 24 hours as standard and a redo policy. The price per blended photo is the highest on this list.

Considered, not ranked

  • NovaHDR: It does not blend brackets or accept RAW files. It finishes merged exports and single frames as one consistent set, so it fits photographers who already merge in their own software.
  • AutoHDR: Its homepage and pricing page do not say whether it takes brackets, single exposures or RAW, so its HDR handling could not be compared.
  • Styldod: Its image enhancement page does not mention brackets or HDR inputs.

Choosing an HDR editing service

Match the bracket count to your rooms

Ask how many exposures per view a service blends. Bella Virtual asks for 3 to 5, Autoenhance.ai merges up to 9, and several agencies do not say. A window-heavy listing needs the higher end.

Decide whether you need flambient

Flash and ambient blends handle color casts and dark corners differently from pure HDR. If you shoot both, pick a service that prices both, like PhotoUp, Fotober or Phixer's Standard tier.

Upload the format you shoot

RAW brackets keep the most latitude for the blend. BoxBrownie, Phixer, FixThePhoto, Bella Virtual and Autoenhance.ai list RAW; check compressed RAW and CR3 limits where they apply.

Check halos and window edges

The usual giveaway of a weak blend is a glow around window frames or flat, gray walls. Zoom to 100 percent on the brightest window of a trial set before you commit a whole month of shoots.

Compare per blended photo, not per image uploaded

Some services charge per finished image regardless of how many brackets went in, others by tier. Price a typical 30-view property both ways.

Know whether you need the blend at all

If you already merge in Lightroom or Photomatix and only want the last exposure and color pass, an HDR service duplicates work you have done. A finishing service that starts from your exported images is the cheaper fit.
